CELEBRITY- Bronxites once again gathered along the Grand Concourse to immortalize three locals who have gone on to achieve great things in their respective fields.

This year's honorees celebrated at the Bronx County Courthouse on May 20 were Tarana Burke, the founder of the #MeToo Movement, “Billions” actress Maggie Siff and Hip-Hop legend Slick Rick-- who are now all represented with a special street sign on the Grand Concourse.

Siff told the crowd, "This is such an honor. I was just talking to my dad last night and he was born in this neighborhood. And he said in 1944, one of his very first memories was seeing F.D.R. drive by in an open motorcade, so I don't know but there is something about that, that goes full circle.”

Burke stated, "This is an enormous honor. I have clearly been all over the place recently and I don't think anything measures my love for the Bronx.”

Burke added, "As much as I love the Bronx, I do know that these communities in the Bronx are still vulnerable and like communities everywhere, there vulnerable to sexual violence and in order for us to make these communities less vulnerable, we have to talk about this issue.”

After the unveiling of his new street sign, Slick Rick was asked about his favorite places in the borough, he replied, "The Grand Concourse and Fordham Road. I used to visit the Loew's Paradise Theater, but that was a long time ago. I'm not sure what it is now, but that was back in the day.”

Rick continued, "I'm still from the Bronx, so I pass this neighborhood all the time. Its still good to be apart of the environment.”

The festivities ended with a parade and street fair along Mosholu Parkway that featured a performance by hip-hop star Remy Ma.
